The opposition is calling on Prince Edward Islands finance minister to table documents about a trip he took to London England two years ago.

Wes Sheridan told the House, he took the trip as part of an effort with the Mi'kmaq Confederacy to explore setting up a regulatory and licensing body for international online gaming.

In question period, Opposition Leader Steven Myers asked Sheridan why the financial details of that trip were not tabled with Sheridan's ministerial expenses.

"The reason given for not releasing these records of your London gaming junket was trade secrets," Myers said. "Question for the minister, what trade secrets would be exposed if you released the records for your London gaming junket?"

He also asked why his inquiry for that information under the Freedom of Information Act was denied.

Sheridan said he couldn't remember the details of how the trip was financed, but said he would look into the details and table the records of his trip with the House.

As you would know, not all FOIP requests come to me as minister of the department and so Im not aware of which FOIP request hes referring to, Sheridan said in the House.

Outside the house, Sheridan denied opposition charges that it was complimentary trip paid by the large British company Simplex.
