A manufacturer of gluten-free cookie, cake and bread mixes in western P.E.I. is getting some government money to help it develop export markets.

ACOA announced a $130,000 interest-free loan for Duinkerken Foods Tuesday morning. The province is pitching in $10,000 through Innovation PEI's Capital Assistance Acquisition Program.

"Once again, Prince Edward Island is on track to lead Canada in the growth of international exports," said Economic Development Minister Heath MacDonald in a news release.

"It's family owned businesses like Duinkerken Foods Inc who make this possible."

Duinkerken Foods was established in 2005, and recently opened a facility in Slemon Park, outside of Summerside, P.E.I. In addition to baking mixes Duinkerken also produces raw ingredients, such as rice flour and xanthan gum.
