92-year-old wins 2nd Make Charlottetown Bloom award

Rita Murray got a start on gardening late in life, but at 92 she now has decades of experience behind her.

Rita Murray got a start on gardening late in life, but at 92-years-old she now has three decades of experience behind her.

Murray can also boast two Make Charlottetown Bloom awards, something she doesn't take for granted.

"I was very excited," she said of the most recent award.

"Even though it was the second time I was very pleased."

Murray has been growing her backyard garden for since she was in her 60s. At its centre is a grape bower that is her pride and joy.

Murray loves taking the time in the spring to choose the flowers that will make the colours right in her garden.

She also paints, and some of her work is displayed in the garden.
