Central Bedeque crash leaves 67-year-old woman dead

A 67-year-old P.E.I. woman is dead after a crash near Central Bedeque on Friday morning.

Police say the woman died in hospital as a result of her injuries

A 67-year-old P.E.I. woman is dead after a crash near Central Bedeque on Friday morning, according to RCMP.

The crash happened at about 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of Routes 10 and 1A.

The woman was sent to Prince County Hospital in Summerside, as was the 24-year-old male driver of the other car, who is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Emergency responders remain at the scene.

The Department of Transportation closedRoute 1A at the intersection and set up adetour.

The cause of the crash has not been determined.

This is the second fatal crash on P.E.I. in 24 hours. A 66-year-old woman was killed Thursday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Route 25 in York.
