Ottawa man sought in March shooting

A 21-year-old Ottawa man is being sought on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with the shooting death of one man, and for injuries to two other men.

Ottawa police have obtained a Canada-wide warrant for an Ottawa man they believe killed a 20-year-old man and shot two others in March.

Police are looking for Maher Majed, 21, in connection to the death of Khalid Doreh.

Doreh was shot and killed at a home on Burn Street at the corner of Borthwick Avenue on March 23.

Charges of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder are pending against Majed.

Zakaria Dourhnou, 19, was alsocharged with first-degree murderand two counts of assault with a weapon connected to the shooting.

Majed is described as a Middle Eastern man, standing about six feet one inch and weighing 230 pounds. Police say he has a husky build, short black hair, brown eyes and facial hair.

Police continue to investigate but they are asking anyone with information on Majed's whereabouts to call 613-236-1222, ext. 5493 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477.
