2 people in hospital after west end collision

Two people were taken to hospital Sunday morning after a collision in Ottawa's west end.

Police warn drivers after several collisions on icy roads

Two people were taken to hospital Sunday morning after a collision in Ottawa's west end.

Police are investigating the two-vehicle collision, which took placeat the intersection of Robertson and Eaglesonroads around 11:30 a.m.

As a result, Robertson Road was closed betweenEaglesonRoad andHaanelDrive. It was reopened later Sunday afternoon.

The extent of the two people's injuriesis not yet known, police said.

Several collisions across the city,police say

Ottawa police asked people Sunday morning to drive safely following a number of collisions across the city.

Police said the freezing rain was causing dangerous conditions, and are asking drivers to slow down and keep their distance from other vehicles.

Several collisions also happened in the city's east end Sunday morning, police said.

Police responded to collisions atInnes Road and Province Avenue, at Blair andMontreal roads, and at Russelland Walkleyroads.

There were no reported injuries in those incidents, police said.
