Ottawa police officer accused of off-duty assault

An Ottawa police officer has been charged with assault and mischief for an alleged off-duty incident in April, the police force says.

Const. Pierre Fournier suspended with pay after alleged incident near Greely

UPDATE: The two criminal charges against Const. Pierre Fournier were withdrawn at the request of the Crown in September 2022. A charge of discreditable conduct was laid under the Police Services Act in relation to the alleged incident in the spring of 2023.


An Ottawa police officer has been charged for an alleged off-duty assault in April, theforce says.

Const. Pierre Fournier, 51, was charged with assault and mischief on Thursday, according to the police force.

The incident reportedly occurred on April 24, 2021,on Old Prescott Road nearthe rural community of Greely.

Police did not release any further details.

Fournier has been released from custody and he is now suspended with pay from the Ottawa Police Service.

The force's professional standards unit has also launched an investigation under the Police Services Act.
