Appointed incumbent faces 1st race in Kanata North

The seat was won by Jenna Sudds in 2018, but was vacated when she became the Liberal MP for Kanata-Carleton.

There are 3 candidates running for a seat on council in Ward 4, including the incumbent who was appointed

After Jenna Sudds' successful 2021 run to be a Liberal MPfor a west-end riding, council decided to appoint someone to fill herseatfor Kanata Northinstead of holding a byelection.

Council selected Cathy Curry, who is now running for a seat on council for the first time, even though she's been representing the ward for the past 10 months.

Viorel CopilandChristine Moulaison whowas one of 20 candidatesto apply for the appointment to the vacated Kanata North seat are taking on Curry.
