Race in River features 3 candidates

The race in Ward 16 River features an incumbent and two challengers.

Incumbent had no challengers until August

Two-term incumbent Riley Brockington faced no rivals until August, when a couple of competitors registered to run against him this fall.

Brockingtonwas first elected in 2014, and was returned to council in2018 with nearly 55 per cent of the votes cast.

House of Commons legislative assistant Ethan Sabourinregistered in early August to take Brockington on, whileAlex Dugal who's the CEO of a medical mask manufacturing companysigned up on the last day.
