Man missing after falling from boat in Outaouais

Rescuers are searching for a man who fell into the water while boating on a reservoir north of Maniwaki, Que., on Saturday afternoon.

  • UPDATE | Police said the man's body was found Sunday evening in the areawhere he disappeared. He was a 20-year-old from Saint-Jrme, Que., police said. His identity was not released.

Rescue teams are searching for a man who fell from a boat in theOutaouais region of Quebec onSaturday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the BaskatongReservoir, a manmade lake in the municipality of Grand-Remousnorth of Maniwaki, Que.,at about 4:30 p.m.

The man, who is in his 20s, was on board a motor boat with about 10 people. On Sunday, police with the Sret du Qubec(SQ)told Radio-Canada that he was not wearing a life jacket.

The search efforts, which began Saturday using police and fire servicevessels, continued on Sunday. Police divers were on site Sunday to participate in the search, according to the provincialpolice.
