Rideau Valley Marketplace destroyed in fire

TheRideau Valley Marketplace on Highway 43 west of Smiths Fallswas destroyed in a fire early Sunday morning.

Ontario Provincial Policeand fire crews were called to the businessinDrummondNorthElmsleyjust after 5 a.m. on Sunday. No injuries have been reported.

The business describes itself as a new, used, consignment and liquidation centre.

Part ofHighway 43 was closed for eight hours as fire crews put out hot spots. The road has since reopened.

The Ontario Fire Marshal was called to the scene to help determine the cause.
