Woman's body found on school grounds in Halifax

A woman's body was discovered on the grounds of an elementary school in the north end of Halifax Monday afternoon.

Police were atSt. Patrick's - Alexandra School on Maitland Street investigating.

The woman's body was discovered by a staff member of the school at approximately 2:15 p.m. AT. The staff member initially believed the woman was injured.

Police in Halifax were releasing few details other than to say that they're treating the adult woman's death as suspicious since her death was sudden.

St. Patrick's - Alexandra School teaches students from primary to grade nine.

Students were led out of the school through an exitthat was away from where the body was found on the school's grounds.
