We have yet another storm system tracking into the Maritimes, as our active pattern continues. Nova Scotia will see mostly rain, with more snow mixing in for Cape Breton.

Rain at times heavy and melting snow andice will bring arisk of localized flooding, especially along the Atlantic coastline where rainfall totals will be highest.

With so many trees still encased in ice following Friday's storm, the biggest concern for Nova Scotia will be the wind. The 50-70 km/h gusts on Tuesday couldbe problematic, bringing potential for icy broken limbs andoutages.

That said, I'm hoping our rising temperatures tonight along withrain andfog will melt enough ice on trees andlines, before the strongest winds ramp up on Tuesday.

By Tuesday morning, winds will be gusting to 40-60 km/h in the southwest. (Ryan Snoddon)

The stronger southeastwinds will arrive in the afternoon with gusts in the 50-70 km/h range, except in Cape Breton where gusts will reach90 km/h. Les Suetes winds will top 150 km/h on Tuesday afternoon.

The strongest southeast winds will ease from west to east on Tuesday evening as the rain departs and winds shift to breezy southwesterlies, which will linger into Wednesday.
