Drunk driver clocked at 170 km/h in Pictou County, say RCMP

A 42-year-old Ontario man is facing charges after he allegedly sped down Highway 104 while drunk.

The man is also charged with driving while suspended

An Ontario man is facing charges after he sped down Highway 104 while drunk, according tothe RCMP.

Around 10:30 a.m. on Monday,RCMPspotted a vehicletravelling 170 km/h in a 110 km/h zone near the community of MountThom.

After pulling over the car, policenoticed the driver showed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and taken for a breathalyzer test.

RCMP said the test showed the driver's blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit.

The 42-year-old man is facing several charges, including impaired driving, driving while suspendedand speeding.

He will appear in Pictouprovincial court in July.
