Post-tropical storm Colin expected to bring lots of rain

Depending on where you are in Nova Scotia today, you'll see clouds or rain.

The warmest temperatures will be in the Annapolis Valley and Northern Nova Scotia

Wet weather continues across Nova Scotia today as post-tropical storm Colin passes to the south.

Nova Scotianscan expect showers with periods of rain or thundershowers and seasonable temperatures.

Environment Canada has issued a tropical cyclone special weather statement for Guysborough, Richmond and Cape Breton counties, including Sydney.

The heaviest rainfall amounts will come today and move into tomorrowfor the eastern portion of the mainland and southern Cape Breton.

In terms of rainfall amounts, 50 mm or more is likely to come down in a short period of time, so it will be important to keep storm drains clear.

Central mainland (including greater Halifax)

Low temperature: 10 C

Northern Nova Scotia

High temperature: 18 C

Low: temperature: 10 C

Southwestern Nova Scotia

Forecast: Showers with periods of rain.

High temperature: 18 C

Low temperature: 10 C

Annapolis Valley and Cumberland County

Forecast: Showers with periods of rain.

High temperature: 20 C

Low temperature: 14 C

Cape Breton

Forecast: Showers and fog.

High temperature: 14 C

Low temperature: 6 C
