Today's disturbance is expected to bring a mixed bag of precipitation that will transition from snow, to freezing rain and then, finally, rain for some areas of Nova Scotia and P.E.I.

A disturbance developingsouth of Cape Cod will move to the north-northeast and track across western New Brunswick this evening to be centred over the Gasp region by this time Friday morning.

Snow will develop throughout the area later today with an expected five to 15 centimetres of snow for parts of Nova Scotia and P.E.I. With somewhat milder air moving across the region, there is the risk of some patches of freezing rain along with the snow in some communities of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island after that.

Also, Atlantic coastal Cape Breton can expect the snow to change tofreezing rain and then to rain this evening.

Clearing can be expected in the wake of this inclement weather, so generally fair, mostly sunnyweather can be expected both Friday and Saturday.

Temperatures will be near or a bit above the normal today then fall back to colder than normal with the return to fair weather on Friday and Saturday.

There are indications of a more intense storm moving across the Region on Sunday more intense meaning more snow for some, rain for others (mostly Nova Scotia) and high winds.

Some milder temperatures associated with this scenario will likely continue into Monday.
