Pedestrian hospitalized after Halifax crosswalk crash

A 45-year-old woman is recovering after she was hit by a pickup truck in a crosswalk Tuesday morning, say Halifax police.

Driver was turning at Coburg Road and Oxford Street

A 45-year-old woman is recovering after she was hit by a pickup truck in a crosswalk Tuesday morning, say Halifax police.

Officers said the woman was struckat the intersection of Coburg Road and Oxford Street around 7:10 a.m.

They said the victim was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police ticketed the 31-year-old driver, who was turning left at the time of the accident, for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The ticket comes with a $693.95 fine and four points on a driver's licence with a conviction.
