Halifax's overnight winter parking ban begins Tuesday

The city cautions that vehicles hanging out of driveways as well as lawn decor such as planters can pose potential obstructions for crews clearing the sidewalks after snowfall and should be removed.

While ban in effect, city can block street parkingbetween 1and 6 a.m. during bad weather

It's that time of year again.

Halifax Regional Municipality's overnight winter parking ban goes intoeffect tomorrow,Dec.15, and runs until March 31, 2021.

While the ban is in effect, the city can block street parkingbetween 1and 6 a.m. on nights when there is bad weatherand sidewalk clearing operations.

The city will advise when overnight street parking is banned via their website and Twitter account. Residents can also sign up to get notified via e-mail, phone or text message.

Vehicles obstructing snow removal or winter maintenance operations can also beticketed and or towed regardless of the time or date.
