Here's what you can expect across Nova Scotia as the blizzard starts to ease but icy conditions continue.

Environment Canada had issued blizzard warnings for almost all of Nova Scotia, and later lifted them for southeastern Nova Scotia as the weather started to clear.

The messy weather forced the cancellation of flights, as well as schools and businesses across the Maritimeson Tuesday. Road conditions were so poor that transportation officials in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick shut down a 170-kilometre stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway between Moncton, N.B., and Truro, N.S.

Here's a timeline of what toexpect tonight and tomorrow:

Tuesday

2 p.m.: Periods of snow mixed heavily with ice pellets on the Atlantic coast. Scattered white out conditions. Northeast wind gusts 60 km/h to 90 km/h.

4 p.m.: Periods of snow mixed heavily with ice pellets province wide. Scattered white out conditions. Northeast wind gusts between 60 km/h to 90 km/h.

6 p.m.: Periods of snow, ice pellets, and freezing rain. Isolated white out conditions. Northeast wind gusts between 60 km/hto 80 km/h.

8 p.m.: Off and on light mix of snow, ice pelletsand freezing rain. Isolated white out conditions. Northeast wind gusts slightly weaker, between50 km/h to 70 km/h.

10 p.m.: Off and on light mix of snow, ice pellets, and freezing rain. Some restrictions to visibility. Northeast wind gusts easing to 40 km/h to 60 km/h.

Wednesday

12 a.m.: Off and on light mix of snow, ice pelletsand freezing rain. Some restrictions to visibility. North northeast wind gusts between40 km/h to 60 km/h.

2a.m.: Off and on light mix of snow, ice pelletsand freezing rain. Some restrictions to visibility. Wind gusts going north, between 30 km/h to 50 km/h.

4a.m.: Moderate snow for the Annapolis Valley and Tri-County area, elsewhere a light mix of snow and ice pellets. North wind gusts 30 km/h to 50 km/h.

6a.m.: Moderate snow in the Annapolis Valley and on the South Shore, while other locations will see alight mix of snow and ice pellets. North wind gusts 30 km/h to 50 km/h. The wind direction may be variedon the Atlantic coastline.

8a.m.: Off and on light mix of snow and ice pellets Halifax and west. Scattered wet flurries east of Halifax including Cape Breton. North wind gusts of30 km/h to 50 km/h, although the direction may be variedon the Atlantic coastline.

10a.m.: Off and on light mix of snow and ice pellets Halifax and west. Scattered wet flurries east of Halifax including Cape Breton. North northwest wind gusts between30 km/h to 50 km/h.

12 p.m.: Off and on light mix of snow and ice pellets Halifax and west. Scattered wet flurries east of Halifax including Cape Breton. Northwest wind gusts between 40 km/h to 60 km/h, though the wind direction may vary inCape Breton.
