N.S. man honoured with stamp

The first black person and first Nova Scotian to receive the prestigious Victoria Cross is being honoured with a new stamp.

William Hall of the Royal Navy was named to the British Empire's highest award for valour in 1859.

During battle in India, he almost single-handedly destroyed an enemy target with a single cannon.

The stamp will be unveiled Tuesday at the Black Cultural Centre in Dartmouth.
