Man charged in Truro brawl

A 22-year-old man was charged Friday with killing a man in Truro.

Dustan Joseph Preeperappeared in a New Glasgow court Friday morning to be charged with manslaughter over the death of Ben Hare, 26.

Hare was found dead at an apartment building on Lyman Street near Truro's Victoria Park after police responded to several 911 calls just after 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Neighbours reported hearing shouting between a woman and two men.

Paramedics pronounced Hare dead at the scene and two other people were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police described the incident as a brawl.

Preeper will be held in custody until his bail hearing July 13.
