Halifax using temporary No Parking signs to help snow clearing

Crews in the Halifax region are deploying temporary No Parking signs along some ice-clogged streets as they continue efforts to clear roadways.

Crews in the Halifax region are deploying temporary No Parking signs along some ice-clogged streets as they continue efforts to clear roadways.

Thecity is urging drivers to obey the signs, and says motorists can be ticketed or their vehicles towed if they disregard the law.

The overnight parking ban will be in force again tonight, from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.

The city also notes that regardless of the time of day or night, tickets can be handed out under Section 139 of the Motor Vehicle Act if vehicles are parked in a way that interferes with snow clearing. Vehicles can also be towed.
