Nova Scotian families tell stories of family and Christmas at Halifax airport

As Christmas nears, Halifax's airport gets busier. There are tearful reunions, tough goodbyes, warm welcomes and brand-new babies meetingfamily for the first time.

Halifax Stanfield International airport was alive with Christmas spirit today. CBC News was there to capture a few of their stories.

Logan Coste

From: Saint Pierre and Miquelon

Coste is heading home from Montreal where he'sgoingto school to become an accountant.

"I only have twoweeks a year.So I'm excited to see my family"

Coreen and Brian Kaiser

From: Port Bickerton, N.S.

They're on their wayto Ottawa where theirdaughter livesfor Christmas. It's their first Christmas away from home in 32 years. They say it's a new chapter in their lives.

"We just miss her so much and can't wait to see her."

Judy and Alex Cameron

From:Antigonish, N.S.

They're waiting for a delayed flight to Toronto where they'll bevisiting their daughter in Oakville.

"We've been delayed about an hour, but we're together and that's what matters."

Ernest Awoonor-Williams

From: Moncton, N.B.

Awoonor-Williamsis home from St. John's, where he's doing hismasters in chemistry at Memorial University.

"Looking forward to hanging out with friends and family. Home sweet home."

Margaret Buckely

From: Ireland, lives in Ottawa.

Buckely just said goodbye to one sister who, with the help of another sister, sent her off. Margaret leaves for Ottawa on Sunday.

"It's not hard to say goodbye;The thoughts of more good times to come will get us through till next time."

Stephen and Kaylee Kiley

From: Shad Bay, N.S.

They're greeting their daughter who is in from British Columbia.

"The holidays are great, just to have her home is always special. She's my little care bear."

Georgie and Terry Kanellakos

"[We're] waiting for my brother and his kids. This will be their first time meeting Georgie. They can't wait."

"It's gonna be fun, it really changes Christmas when you have kids around."
