Arrest made in Dartmouth stabbing that seriously injured man

An arrest has been made after man was sent to hospital Wednesday morning with life-threatening injuries after a stabbing on Roleika Drive in Dartmouth.

Suspect arrested following stabbing, robbery at Dairy Queen

An arrest has been made following a number of violent incidents Tuesday evening in Dartmouth, including a robbery at a fast-food restaurant and a stabbing in an apartment building that left a victim with life-threatening injuries.

At around 6 p.m. Tuesday, police were called about a man who appeared to have blood on his clothing walkingon Caledonia Road, Halifax Regional Police said in a news release.

A short time later, officer were called to a robbery at Dairy Queen on Main Street. Police say a man had threatened staff with a knife and demanded cash but left empty handed. Immediately after, police received another call about theft at the Sobeys on Tacoma Drive.

At 6:15 p.m. police arrested a 29-year-old Dartmouth man on Tacoma Drive who matched the description of the person in both incidents. He was held in custody overnight.

Then, Wednesday morning at around 8:15 a.m., police were called to an apartmentbuilding on Roleika Drive. Inside, officers found a man with serious stab wounds. He was taken to hospital.

Police say the man had been stabbed the night before when he was robbed of electronic equipment, allegedly by the 29-year-old.

Police say the man arrested and the man who was stabbed know each other. Charges are pending.
