Codey Reginald Hennigar murder case put over until Feb. 13

A 30-year-old man from Wyses Corner, who was scheduled to appear in court on Friday to answer to three charges of second-degree murder, will return to court Feb. 13.

Codey Reginald Hennigar has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 74-year-old Ida Raye Ward.

He also faces two other charges of second-degree murder in the deaths of Clifford William Ward, 81, and Mildred Ann Ward, 54, both from Wyses Corner.

Investigators have said the deaths of the three Wards, whose bodies were found after a Jan. 7 house fire on the Old Guysborough Road in Wyses Corner, are homicides.

A few weeks ago, the Mounties said Hennigar was also charged with assault with a weapon and fleeing police.

Hennigar has been in custody since Jan. 9.
