Yukon man charged with luring 13-year-old girl on internet

A Pelly Crossing, Yukon, man has been charged with internet luring.

RCMP say they arrested 30-year-old Gary William Matheson on April 16.

It's allegedMathesonengaged in internet communications with a 13-year-old Whitehorse girlin late January.

Cpl. JoshWiesesays no images were shared over the internet, and says police will follow up on any other allegations that may arise from the release of this information.

RCMPsay the charge of luring a child has several elements, including the age of the victim and whether the communication with the victimrelates to other sexual offences, such as child pornography.

Matheson will remain in custody at least until hisbail hearing on May 9.
