Yellowknife woman still missing after 6 months

Yellowknife RCMP say they have not given up hope of finding Angela Meyer, a 22-year-old mentally ill woman who went missing over six months ago.

Yellowknife RCMP say they have not given up hope of finding Angela Meyer, a 22-year-old mentally ill woman who went missingalmost 6 months ago.

Yellowknife RCMP are seeking any tips related to the Nov. 27, 2010, disappearance of Angela Meyer, 22. (RCMP)

Meyer was last seen outside her family's downtown home on Nov. 27, while she was home on a weekend pass from Stanton Territorial Hospital's psychiatric ward.

Since then, numerous search efforts by police, her family and volunteers have yielded no sign of Meyer, who has schizophrenia and Type 2 diabetes.

"There hasn't been any tips or anything that have come in for several months now," Const. Kathy Law told CBC News on Friday.

"If you have any sightings of Ms. Meyer, anything out of the ordinary, please contact the Yellowknife RCMP or Crime Stoppers."

Police have not planned to conduct any ground searches, but Law said the RCMP's dog unit is performing regular searches in the Yellowknife area.

Meyer's file will remain open until she is found, Law said.
