Environment Yukon has its Bear Incident Map up and running for a second summer.

The map tracks reports of conflicts between bears and humans in the Whitehorse area.

Conservation officer DavidBakicasays the map is to draw attention to any trouble spots for bears.

"Most of the conflicts revolve around garbage, compost, occasionally barbecues. Those types of things. The bears view those interesting smells as food source," says Bakica.

He says people should be diligent in keeping their yards free of bear attractants.

He says once a problem bear is reported, the incident will go up on the map.
