RCMP investigating 'financial irregularities' at Salt River

Police in the Northwest Territories have opened an investigation into financial irregularities at the Salt River First Nation in Fort Smith, N.W.T.,a news release says.

They say its in response to a complaint.

The Salt River First Nation turned over the results of an independent forensic audit to the Fort Smith RCMP Detachment which then led to the matter being investigated by the Financial Crime Section, the release says.

The investigation is ongoing.
