Nunavut fur designer moves into downtown Iqaluit shop

A well-known Nunavutfur designer opened a new store indowntown Iqaluit overthe weekend.

Rannva Simonsen began designing fur fashions in 1999. Shehas a home studio that she will maintain in Apex, but her main location will now be inIqaluitonPitsi Lane.

She said it's been a long-time dream of hers to open a store in the busier area.

"I'm pretty excited about it," she said. "It's been in the dreams for 10 years and in the works for two or three and actually I'm exhilaratedto have it happening finally and I'm proud to have an outlet for seal skin products."

Simonsen's collection includes clothing for men, women and children anda variety of gift items.
