Damage in Rankin Inlet fourplex blaze estimated at more than $1M

Rankin Inlet RCMPsay the cause of a fire that destroyed a fourplexover the weekend is still under investigation.

No one was injured. All four units in the building were empty or evacuated at the time of the fire, police say.

RCMP and firefighters were called to the blaze at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the cost of rebuilding the fourplex is estimated at more than a million dollars.
