Pauloosie Padluq of Kimmirut charged with 2nd-degree murder

Pauloosie PadluqofKimmiruthas been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 30-year-old man in the community.

Padluq, 35, was charged on Thursday.

The body of Qummuattuq Simeonie, who also went by the nameKoomoo Pootoogook,was found near Qaqqalik School Tuesday. School was cancelled that day but classes resumed Wednesday.

Padluqwill remain in custody until his next court appearance on Sept.11in Iqaluit.
