Guns stolen from Hay River, N.W.T., turn up in High Level, Alta.

Four firearms stolen from a sporting goods store in Hay River, N.W.T., in April were discovered by police during a traffic stop in High Level, Alta., lastweekend.

High Level RCMP found a number of firearms Sunday during a traffic stop in an unrelated investigation.

Four of them had been stolen from Monster Recreation in Hay River on April 27. At thetime, police said a door was smashed to gain entry to the store and two .22-calibrerifles and three shotguns were stolen from a locked cabinet.

Police are still investigating the break-in and the whereabouts of the remaining gun.

Charges are pending against three adults in relation to possession of the stolen property.
