Hay River medical clinic to close for a week starting Feb. 29

The Hay River Health and Social Services Authority is asking residents "to reconsider using our health services unless absolutely necessary" the week of Feb. 29 as the community's medical clinic moves to its new home.

The medical clinic will be closed Feb. 29 toMarch 4 and itstelephone will be out of service.

During the closure, one doctor will be available Monday to Friday for non-urgent health carein the specialist clinic area at H.H. Williams Memorial Hospital.

Emergency services at H.H. Williamswill be unaffected.

The medical clinic will reopen March 7 in the new regional health centre, with anewphone number: 874-8100.

The next services to be moved to the new health centre will be the rehabilitation department, midwifery offices and administration. The health authority says the switchover to the new hospitalwill take aboutthree months, with theemergency department, laboratory and X-ray departments beingthe last to move.
