Frozen cut green beans recalled due to Listeria concerns

A brand of frozen cut green beans sold in western provinces, Yukon and the Northwest Territories are being recalled due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

A brand of frozen cut green beans sold in western provinces, Yukon and the Northwest Territories is being recalled due to possibleListeria monocytogenes contamination.

The recalled productisStahlbush Island Farms Cut Green Beans 283 g with best-by dates of 02/03/2018, 04/07/2017, 11/24/2016, 12/28/2017, and11/06/2016.

Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the recall was triggered by a recall in another country.

Food contaminated with the bacteria Listeria may not look or smellspoiled, but can still make you sick, with symptoms including vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches and severe headache.

Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk, the CFIA states. In pregnant women, Listeria can lead to miscarriage and stillbirth.
