Fraser Arms shooting: Handgun seized was stolen from Yellowknife home

A handgun seized after Sunday's shooting near the Fraser Arms apartment buildingsin Yellowknifewas stolen from a Range Lake home last month, sayRCMP.

An AR-15 rifle, a .40 calibre Glockpistoland 2,000 rounds of ammunition were stolen from a Range Lake home March 13.

One man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Sunday following the shooting in downtown Yellowknife. Police pursued a suspect vehicle through residential streets to an industrial park; at least one parked vehicle and two police vehicles were damaged.

RCMPsay they believe two peoplewere targeted in Sunday's shooting oneman who was shot in the shoulder and another person.

Early Monday morning with help from the public, RCMPfoundand seized a firearm in a residential area that theybelieveto have been used in Sunday'sshooting incident.

Police say the gun seized is the Glock pistol stolen in March.

Brendan Paul, 18, of Yellowknife, appeared in court today. He is facing twocounts ofattempted murder, along with several other charges related to the shooting and policechase.

Paul is also facing a charge ofbreaking and entering to steal a firearmin relation to the March 13 theft.

Travis William Campbell, 26, of Langley, B.C., was also in court. He also facestwo counts of attempted murder and other charges.
