Whitehorse man charged with 1st-degree murder of Christopher Brisson

A man in Whitehorse has been charged with thefirst-degree murder of a young man whose body was found in the city almost a year ago.

Investigators arrestedDarryl Steven Sheepway, 38, Friday in connection to the death of 25-year-oldChristopherBrisson.

Brisson'sbody was found Sept. 1, 2015 near Miles Canyon, three days after his family reported him missing.

In January 2013, Brissonwas sentenced to 45 months in Whitehorse prison for trafficking cocaine.

Officials sayinvestigators from Yukon RCMP's Major Crime Unit along with Yukon RCMP's Federal Investigation Unit, and officers fromBritish Columbia and Whitehorse were involved in the investigation.

Sheepwayis scheduled toappearinWhitehorse Territorial Court Sept.9th.
