Vuntut Gwichin MLA Darius Elias will not fight police allegations he was driving impaired earlier this year.

The Yukon Party backbencher pleaded guilty in territorial court this morning, and asked to be sentenced in two weeks.

On May 15, Whitehorse RCMP charged Elias with refusing to provide a breath sample.

Today was the first scheduled court appearance.

Elias was not present.

His lawyer Mike Reynolds told the court Elias will be prepared for sentencing July 30.
