Injuries to woman found on Aklavik, N.W.T., trail considered 'suspicious'

RCMP in Aklavik, N.W.T., are asking for the publics help to find out what happened to a woman who was injured on a trail last week. They say the circumstances are considered suspicious.

Police looking for public's help, also looking for black iPhone

RCMP in Aklavik, N.W.T., are asking for the public's help to find out what happened to a female who was injured on a trail last week.

On Nov. 11, at around 10:30 a.m., RCMP officers and local nursing staff found the female injured and unresponsive on a snowmobile trail near J.J. Stewart road. Police have not released the female's age.

She was medevaced to Inuvik and then to an Edmonton hospital, where she remains in care.

"At this time, the investigation indicates that the injuries are suspicious in nature," said Cst. Todd Glemser, of Aklavik RCMP, in a press release.

The RCMP is asking anyone who many have seen activity in the vicinity of J.J. Stewart road last Wednesday to contact police.

Police are also looking to speak with anyone who may have seen a black iPhone in the area, or who knowsits whereabouts.
