Men facing drugs, weapons charges ordered to not wear motorcycle club clothes

Two men, believed to be associates of the Vikings Motorcycle Club, were arrested overnight for drugs and weapons charges.

Two men, believed to be associates of the Vikings Motorcycle Club, were arrested overnight for drugs and weapons charges.

SalvatoreCicciarella, 59, from Brigus,is facing charges of possessing a controlled drug or substance Hydromorphinol,aderivative of morphine for the purpose oftrafficking, and carrying a prohibited weapon a handgunin a vehicle.

James Percy Curran, 51, from Cupids,is also charged with carrying a handgun and possessing Hydromorphinolfor the purpose of trafficking.

The pairwere arrested overnight in the Trinity-Conception area and appeared on the Harbour Grace court docket Thursday.

Both Curran and Cicciarellawere released from custody on numerous conditions afterappearing,via video from Harbour Grace, in St. John's provincial court Tuesday afternoon.

As conditions of theirrelease, they are not to associate with each other oranyone with a criminal record. They are also forbidden to wear clothing "affiliatedwith any motorcycle club."

Their lawyer Bob Buckingham said both accusedhad a few dozen pills each. He also said the gun they possessed was a wooden replica that could not fire bullets.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court again in earlyApril.
