The general public has been learning more and more about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as his first term in office continues, and thanks to one Newfoundland and Labrador man, Trudeau's top Tragically Hip album is now public knowledge.

As the Hip areone of Canada's most iconic rock bands, Charles Pickett of St. John's began in early June to try and getthe Prime Minister to chime in with his pick for favourite album.

Pickett doubled down on his efforts following the announcement of lead singer Gord Downie'sdiagnosis with terminal cancer and what could be the band's final tour.

His social media campaign picked up steam with some help from St. John's South-Mount Pearl MP Seamus O'Regan and Trudeau tweeted his choice on Friday evening - the Hip's 1989 full-length debut Up to Here.

The tweet received a considerable reaction on Twitter and encouraged some debate over the best of The Tragically Hip's twelve studio albums.
