In 1985, The Mamas and the Papas began their tour in the Maritimes and scheduled 4 concerts in Newfoundland. Deborah Collins was the reporter.

Michelle Phillips had been replaced bydaughter Mackenzie and the lateCass Elliott byElaine "Spanky" McFarlane.

The CBC'sDeborah Collinstells the story of a band rebuildingafter beingtorn apart by drugs, infidelityand the death of Mama Cass.

Unfortunately, problems continued to plague the band and the 1985 version fell apart two years later.
