Team #73 official Cain's Quest winner

Jason Watkins and Kevin Willmott, Team #73 from Labrador West,are the winners of the 2014 Cain's Quest.

After a gruelling week at what's considered to be the world'slongest endurance snowmobile race, the remaining teams crossed the finish line on Saturday.

As the winners,Watkins and Willmott receive a $50,000 prize. Second and third place finishers will also receive money, from the total prize purse of $100,000.

Fewer than a dozen teams wereexpected to finish. At the start,29 were registered for the 3,300-kilometre trek.

The event is so challenging that four teams had to drop out as early asthe first day.

Cain's Quest Chair Todd Kent said this isthe type of race that fans have come to expect.

Kent saideveryone who crossedthe finish line should feel proud.

"It's been gruelling. It's been cold," saidKent.

"Cain's Quest has lived up to its reputation in terms of being the toughest in the world. What these guys have went throughover the last six or seven days, I think they deserve a grand welcome at the finish line."

Teams began crossing the finish linebefore noon on Saturday.
