Father of accused killer Ray Stacey says his son was shaking and scared after alleged stabbing

It is not something a father expects to end up doing testifying at his son's murder trial.

But that's what Sherlock Patey did Wednesday at Supreme Court in St. John's.

His son, Raymond Stacey, 25, is alleged to have stabbed and killed Clifford Comerford, 41, in a van Jan. 11, 2015 on Greenwood Crescentin Mount Pearl.

There's already been testimony that Stacey got out of the van he and Comerford were in and took off.

Patey said that when Raymond came back to the house, he had blood running from his nose and mouth. He saidhe told his son to take off his clothes and take a shower, so his brother wouldn't see him like that.

Patey said he was the one who put Raymond's clothes in the wash.

He also said his son was visibly shaking and scared, and that when the police arrived, Raymond didn't try to run or escape and co-operated.

It's was also learned from Pateyon Wednesday that his son, Raymond Stacey, can't read or write, was addicted to Oxycontin, and is on methadone.
