Scott Andrews, the eastern Newfoundland MPembroiled in a Parliament Hill harassment scandal, says he plans to run in the next federal election.

Andrews spoke with the media in Long Harbour, PlacentiaBay on Wednesday, during a ceremony to mark the start of production at a massive new nickel processing plant in the province.

He initially said he would not be making any comments about the scandal, but said he was looking forward to a speedy resolution "in the very near future."

When asked what resolution he envisioned, Andrews said, "That's as much as I can say right now."

Andrews said he has been carrying on his duties as an MP, both in his riding and in Ottawa.

"I'm going to try to carry on as best I can and deal with this with my family and support team," Andrews said.

Andrews, the MP for the riding of Avalon, was kicked out of the federal Liberal caucus two weeks ago, along with Quebec MPMassimo Pacetti. Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau reacted to complaints from two New Democrat MPswhoalleged they were harassed.

When asked if he will run in the next federal election, Andrews replied:"As far as things are today I'm going to continue to do my job and it's a pleasure to represent the people of Avalon and I'm going to continue to do it."

When asked again if that meant he will run in 2015, Andrews said, "Yep.Absolutely."
