Saskatchewan search continues for N.L. woman

Policeare still looking for a 40-year-old woman originally from western Newfoundland who was reported missing in Saskatchewan nine days ago.

Carol King's vehicle was found last Wednesday in a man-made pond near her home in Herschel, Sask.

On the weekendRCMP drained a slough where King's vehicle was found but they found nothing related to the missing woman. Police have asked area residents to be on the lookout for anything unusual or suspicious.

Since King's disappearance family and friendsin her hometown of Mattis Point, western Newfoundland, have been on edge waiting for more news, fearing King may have been harmed.

"I'm hoping and I'm praying that whoever got her, please help us find her," said King's mother, Yvonne King, who's in Mattis Point, near Stephenville Crossing.

King said her daughterlikes tostay in contact with family members.

"She always phones me. She's never let me worry. She says, 'I have to phone mom because mom always worries about me,'" said Yvonne King

Last week, afterthe RCMPfound King's car, a PT Cruiser, in a water-filled slough, divers spent more than a day searching the water, but found no sign of King.

King's sister Brenda has flown to Saskatchewan from her home in Nova Scotia to be closer to the search for her sister.

King said her family is offering a $25,000 reward for information that helps police find her sister.

"As each day passes, I just get sicker and sicker to my stomach,"she told CBC news.

The RCMP's major crimes unit is investigating.
