Police follow missing St. John's woman tip

Police say they're investigating information from the public that someone matching the description of a missing St. John's woman has been seen on the province's west coast.

Police say they're investigating information from the public that someone matching the description of a missing St. John's woman has been seen on Newfoundland's west coast.

Ann Marie Shirran, 32, of the Kilbride area of St. John's, has been missing since July 18.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said Tuesday that officers throughout the province are continuing to search for Shirran, who is approximately 6' 0" tall, weighs about 170 pounds, with shoulder-length brown hair and blue eyes.

Police said she was last seen wearing black capri pants, a white sleeveless top and flip-flops.

She was formerly known as Ann Marie Baggs.

Police said Tuesday that the RNC's major crime unit is following up on all information that it has been given.

They said they'll continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
