Norway's royal couple cap Canadian visit with stop in St. John's

The Crown Prince and Princess of Norway cap their four-day visit to Canada with a stop in St. John's.

Crown Prince and Princess will tour Marine Institute, meet with government and business leaders

The Crown Prince and Princess of Norway cap their four-day visit to Canada with a stop in St. John's Thursday.

During their visit, Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Maritwill see offshore simulators on a tour of the Marine Institute and hear about Arctic safety and emergency preparedness, as well as attend a luncheon for companies in the aquaculture and oil and gas industries.

At the Johnson Geo Centre, Haakon and Mette-Marit will tour the Polar Night exhibition and attend a forum on cold ocean research in the Arctic. They will end their visit with a networking reception for business contacts in the research community and provincial government.

The Norwegian royal couple's visit is meant to strengthen relations between Norway and Canada, andpromote collaborations within theaquaculture,oil and gas, and Arctic industries.

Earlier this week, the couple met with Canadian and Norwegian startup companies in Toronto, after starting their visit by having dinner with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Grgoire Trudeau.
