North River death now called a homicide

RCMP are now treating the death of a North River man last week as a homicide.

They also say they've released a person they questionedearlierThursday in relation to thedeath of Dale Porter, and that the individual will not be charged.

Theautopsyis also complete, but police said they will notbe releasing the results.

Searchers with the Wolverines Ground Search and Rescue groupscoured various areas in North River on Thursday, looking for evidence in the investigation.

Early Sunday morningpolice were called to a homein the Conception Bay North community and found a mansuffering from serious injuries.

Porter, in his early40s, died a short time later.

Earlier this week police said thereis "no known threat to the general public resulting from [the] incident."
