22-year-old man dead following single-vehicle crash near Norris Arm

Police say a22-year-old man is deadfollowing a single-vehicle crash that happened on the Trans-Canada Highwaynear Norris Arm on Friday.

Passenger sent to hospital with what police are calling non-life threatening injuries

A 22-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle crash near Norris Arm, the RCMP said Monday. (CBC)

Police say a22-year-old man is deadfollowing a single-vehicle crash that happened on the Trans-Canada Highwaynear Norris Arm, N.L., on Friday.

In a news release, the RCMP said it received the report of the crash shortlyafter 2p.m. NT on Friday.

After arriving to the scene, officers determined the vehicle had veered off theTCH, according to police. Thedriver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died at the scene.

The passengerwas sent to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police say.

No other details including what caused the car or truck to swerve off the highway were provided by the police.

The investigation is continuing.
